i think it's a cheapy and you get what you pay for...no offense meant.
i also think you should be aware that if you put a 2x or 3x multiplier on a 12x zoom camera and want to get anything decent out of it, you should plan on shooting pics off of a tripod. you won't be able to hold it still enough and you will also need a whole lot more light. why do you want one of these? what is your goal in the end?

Yeah i know its a cheapy. I wanted one to be able to take pics from a long ways away, like over 500 yards. Because when i went to the yak canyon my pics sucked because they were cropped so much.
And i do have a tripod i could use.

i would not expect good pictures at 500 yards with one of these things or a lot of other big money cameras either. i have one for my older nikon coolpix camera and it honestly was a waste of money. in my experience the pics will still suck, they will just look closer. probably wouldn't hurt to try one for 30 bucks i guess.
get closer to the animal is the best solution...and it's a lot of fun too.

Yeah I might just try it. But yeah getting close is probably the best idea. Its just hard in places like the canyon. I don't want to cross the river just to get a better pic

thats where you'll have all your fun. the pic is like the trophy...the stalk is like the hunt.
cross the bridge and go for a hike. there's a lot of cool stuff to see on the other side of the river away from the road.
just don't get hit by a train.

I was thinking about crossing the bridge at umtanum and taking the gun in case a yote ran out there. And the camera too.
